Why Only One Crate?
The idea behind One Crate is to create a marketplace for collectors who are not necessarily professional record sellers. The pros have record fairs and shops to sell at, we don't. Like most collectors, I usually have 20-50 records I'd like to get rid of but don't want to risk selling online (so many scams) and bringing 50 records to a record fair makes no sense. With One Crate we join up together, bring a crate of vinyl each (about 20-50 records), and make a day of buying, selling, and trading records. Limiting it to a crate each won't make it not worth it for a record dealer but it is plenty for most home collectors.

Why can't I sell more records?
See above for that answer. 20-60 records is the range you can be in.
Can I sell CDs, cassettes, 8-tracks, posters, t-shirts, cursed scrolls, etc.?
Nope. Just vinyl. The exception is if you're selling vinyl that comes with a CD or something like that.
Can I trade with other sellers?
Absolutely!
How much commission or seller fees do you charge?
For now, it's $0, but at some point it will probably be necessary to charge a small percentage. We will always be well below the fees you see on Discogs and Ebay. There will be a $5 fee to sign-up, which you will receive back when you check-in at the event.
What genres can I bring?
For the most part, any genre is fine. Just make sure it's stuff people at least might be interested in.
What condition should the vinyl be in?
Tough question but generally speaking try and keep it G or better. It needs to play since people won't be able to return anything. If there are tracks that don't play please put a note on the record so people know.
How do I get paid?
That's up to you. You can do all cash, you can do Venmo/PayPal, you can take cards. You're responsible for payments.
What is the minimum amount of records I should bring?
We cover this above but try and bring a minimum of 20 (if it's 16 or something like that it's fine). The max is about 50-60.
Do I need an actual crate?
Nope. Anything that holds records so people can flip is fine; boxes, crates, whatever. Again though, limit it to 50-60 tops.
What if I don't have 20 records I want to sell?
Then you should come shop! Buy some more records. Roll the dice, knowing anything you buy (that you don't like) you can sell at a later One Crate.
What if I sell records that end up not playing?
First, please clean and test all of the records you sell if you have any doubts about them. If a buyer comes to me and tells me someone sold him a bad record then I'll give that buyer your information so they can track you down to make it right.
Can we play records at the event?
Generally, yes. In most cases, we'll have some turntables around to spin your wares. For certain events this may not be possible.
What's the deal with food and drinks?
The plan is to always have these at places like coffee shops, breweries, bars, etc. so there will always be something to drink and usually something to eat.
Can I sell new/sealed records?
Please don't show up with a box full of sealed records. If that's what you're selling you probably have other ways to sell your vinyl. However, we all have some sealed records that are duplicates or a well-intentioned gifts that we need to offload. So yeah, some sealed vinyl is totally cool just don't go nuts.
